2012 - the end of the world?

Yesterday I received an email from Mariska, from the Netherlands. She asked if I have anything sensible to say about the ending of the world in 2012, as apparently prophecised by the Mayan calendar, in which she, quite frankly, does not believe.

Well Mariska, I share your skepticism. The end of the world will not be in the year 2012 and I am absolutely convinced about this, since I know about things that are to come, good things and bad things.

Many a respected paranormal medium has had visions of the total destruction of our planet in 2012, but what they have not realised is that their visions were not at all about the future of our planet, but excerpts from a movie that goes by the name 2012 that will be a major hit in movie theaters all over the world! I have found a trailer on youtube and you will see it looks very convincing, scary and real at times. I can very much understand how those mediums fell for it; after all these images will be on many peoples minds not long from now. Any medium tuning into that might get confused.

A strange message

This is going to be the strangest kind of prediction I've ever made. I can not promise it will come true, but my intuition is quite strong on this somehow, so I am going to take the risk. Well, many so called fortunetellers thrive on people only remembering the hits and forgetting about all their many misses, so let me elaborate on the vision I had last night.

I was hovering across the desert, I saw camels, I saw pyramids. Then I saw a handsome young man, typing on a computer. I tried to talk to him, but all he uttered was Pee and not Ann Pee, over and over again. I was sorry to tell him I could not help him figure out who Ann Pee is or where she is, or whatever it was he wanted. Maybe it was in a language I do not know. I had something important to tell him though, that I could not tell him.

Therefore, Rafee Kamouna, if you stumble upon this, and I have a feeling you might by sheer chance, please leave me a comment below this blog post. I have a message for you. But you need to give me a sign that it is truly you, and I think you will know what this sign is.

The Harvest

Did my predictions from last week come true? Time to count the points! ;)

1. Alberto Contador did in fact win the Tour de France.
2. The French president Nicolas Sarkozy passed out on monday july 27t while jogging, but in the meanwhile he left the hospital and is doing ok. As predicted.
3. On saturday july 25th Felipe Massa was involved in a crash during a formula 1 qualification. CNN reports today that unlike rumours have said, he will probably fully recover.

This is it for now. I hope to be back with an interesting new post soon.

A few more predictions

Ok, so I was 100% spot on with two of my three predictions. The third one, being that Alberto Contador will win the Tour de France, is still unsure, but it certainly looks like he is going to be! Of course I know I was not the only one who predicted this (ask the bookmakers), but still...

Anyway, I was doing my thing again last night and I will give two more hints about the near future. Don't let this leak to popular media please.
  1. Whatever happens, the French president will be alright. (no terrorism, don't worry)
  2. In case a famous race driver has a big accident, it will not be as bad as it seems.
I also saw something really disturbing that seemed to regard to my personal situation which makes me rather nervous. You know, somehow I'm more often wrong than right when it comes to predictions about my own life. This undoubtetly has to do with the influence I have on the events in my life and how I can take matters into my own hands when warned. On the other hand I'm sure many people have many random thoughts and so do I; not everthing is a prediction. I just hope this intuition of mine is wrong now.

Next time I'll discuss some other interesting paranormal phenomenon.

Another hit

I just glanced over the CNN homepage and found that yet another of my predictions from last week came true:

"(CNN) -- Author Frank McCourt, whose tragic childhood became creative grist for his first book, the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Angela's Ashes," died Sunday, according to the Web site of his publisher, Simon & Shuster. He was 78."

Sometimes it's sad to be right.

"(CNN) -- An Iranian airliner which crashed Wednesday killing all 168 passengers and crew plunged into the ground and disintegrated on impact, according to a security official."

"The Iranian newspaper Hamshahri reported that the plane was flying from Tehran and was headed to Yerevan, Armenia."

It was only yesterday I gave you all a small glimpse of a possible future, and now I'm sorry to say it was totally accurate. It once again shows the burden of responsibility that comes with having a gift, although I know in this case there was no way I could have avoided this...

Outperforming Nostradamus

Nostradamus is by far the most famous fortune-teller ever. Whenever something big happens you can expect to see his verses predicting the event everywhere on the internet and in popular media. I have a couple of problems with mr. Michel de Nostredame however. Most importantly, he wrote so many predictions and they are so vague, that it is possible to apply them to about anything you like and as often as you like (the same verses have been used to explain multiple big and unrelated events). Anyone with a rich imagination could have done the same by using excessive symbolism and avoiding ever being specific.

Well, there was a case where he did seem to be specific, when he wrote:
The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.

Did this happen? No. Well, people who want to believe (and are willing to stretch his symbolism to great lengths) say: This describes the attack on the World Trade Center. Although Nostradamus clearly seems to say this event happened in july 1999 and not in september 2001, they see no problem rationalizing it like this: From 1999 make 9111 by replacing every 1 with a 9 and every 9 with a 1, which can be split up as 9-11-1, representing the 11th day of the 9th month of 2001. Other popular manipulations are switching back and forth between the gregorian and the julian calendar, in this way also the great fire of London in 1666 is explained (yeah, go ahead, just turn some digits upside down as you see fit).

I do not see what justifies such a rationalization. Actually, I don't even see what the last two sentences have to do with it at all (and by the way, why was the information about the 7th month completely discarded in the WTC example), but anyway, how many different dates could one make by doing such blatant manipulations? Many, many, many. The more different operations you allow yourself to do, the more the realm of possible outcomes expands, and it expands quickly. Of course, we all want to see proof of the paranormal wherever we can, but when you are aware allowing such creative use of small manipulations can turn anything into about anything else, it is clearly a form of self deception.

No, it seems when Nostradamus gets specific, he is wrong.

It is reported Nostradamus wrote his predictions after nightly sessions of selfhypnosis. Although there are some who claim he mostly copy-pasted the work of some monk whose purpose was entirely different from predicting the future. The way I usually do my predictions is not anything like that. I try to get in touch with my inner self, the cosmos and try to open up for impressions from the space-time continuum around me. When doing predictions one does have to be careful not to mess with timelines (i.e. by making a prediction one could actually change the future and with that potentially a correct prediction can turn out false), but since this is a new blog and not many people will read this, I guess it wouldn't hurt to show off a bit and tell you the winner of the Tour de France (a sporting event which is currently going on) will be Alberto Contador. Also, please be careful this week if you fly from Teheran or if you are a writer in your late seventies.

Next week we'll evaluate this weeks predictions and see how I did.
